Summit Racing's Pro LS Cover Alignment Tools are special tools that locate or center the seal openings on the front or rear cover when it is installed. This insures the seal is centered on the crankshaft which prevents leaks and allows easier installation of the seals. The timing cover and rear cover on GM LS series engines don't have dowel pins to ensure correct alignment to the center line of the crankshaft--often leading to annoying leaks at the front damper seal and rear main seal.
